Life lately in pictures

So, these past two weeks were cra-crazy. And I completely intended to post sweet halloween pics, and our fun weekend. And now....more time has passed.

So I will just catch you up with pictures instead!

We had a little gathering before trick-or-treating with candy corn shaped cheese, Pioneer Woman's candy corn popcorn balls, and spiked cider {for the adults}. We're going to have to continue this tradition every year,it was great!

This baby. 

These babies. We went to the zoo this weekend (totally didn't snag any pictures of Lucy with actual wild animals in it. Just very wild cousins.)

Don't you just love that baby squished up in a life jacket! She loved splashing her little feet in the water. She did NOT love being immersed in the cold, brown water. Ick. I wonder where she gets that from...

With the temperatures jumping into the 80s this week, it was finally time to break out Lucy's first swimsuit! 

She will be spending her first Memorial Day at the beach this weekend, and we decided to have a little pool party to get the festivities started in the backyard. 

(Agh I can't take the cuteness! )

Let me tell you, getting a squirmy, wiggly baby tush into a pull-on swim diaper and bathing suit is a joke. 

And then you have to get sunscreen on said wriggly squirmy trying-to-flip-off-the-couch-baby. 

And then there was the pool water. Should I use cold-straight from the garden hose? Or do I haul buckets of warm sink water in while carrying an almost 8-month old under my arm. 

I opted for the garden hose, but I think it was a wee bit chilly for her. She loved it nonetheless! (This child is pure water baby!)

How do you do it? How do you suit up/sunscreen/hat your baby to get beach or pool ready without surrendering to all the squirming?

And the water? What sort of water are you supposed to put in a baby pool...

 
 
 

High tea

My sweet Grandmother is turning 80 this week! 80!

We had a high tea this weekend down in South Carolina to celebrate. A real-deal high tea with a four course meal, tea, hats and dresses.

While we were in SC, my hubs was at the Carolina Motorsports Park racing his car. 

The noise was a wee bit loud for her.

all better. 

We ended the weekend with a virus that sent us to the Doctor this morning. This little dumpling had her finger pricked. Not so fun. The bandaid afterward on the other hand, was oober exciting.
