Cue Garfield...

Does anyone remember what Garfield's favorite food is? C'mon other 80's children... think hard! Think!

It also happens to be my favorite too! Melty, cheesy, meaty, and saucy, all stacked up into a delicious little square of love.

So, combining my two loves in the cooking world: Lasagna, and Pioneer Woman, I decided to try her recipe for "The Best Lasagna. Ever."

She does something amazing in this recipe--she uses pork AND ground beef. Now, I 've tried lasagna with just Italian sausage, and just hamburger meat. And when these two say their "I do's" and the flavors marry, you will agree with the Pioneer woman. Best. Lasagna. Ever.

Step 1: Make Lasagna
Step 2: Lie back and rub your belly
Step 3: Do not be afraid to let a Homer Simpson-esq mmmmmmmmm roll out of your mouth.

Beauty

"He will give a crown of beauty for ashesa joyous blessing instead of mourning, festive praise instead of despair." Isaiah 61:3

Isn't it awesome that God sees us as we are...ashen and dirty, hiding from him in the Eden he provided us, and yet, He loves us. He clothes us in righteousness and sees us as beautiful. Through all of the dirt, and all of the pain, God sees us as beautiful!

Beauty for ashes
a garment of praise for my heaviness
beauty for ashes
take this heart of stone and make it Yours.

I delight myself in the Richest of Fair
trading all that I've had for all that is better,
a garment of praise for my heaviness.
You are the greatest taste
You're the richest of fair.

Lucky Me

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I hope you've worn green all day and eaten something green to go with it!!

I'm lucky enough to be Irish (by marriage) and therefore have been blessed with lots of "luck". Thank you Colbie Callait and Jason Mraz for these beautiful lyrics that allow me to gush over my sweet Irish hubby...

Lucky I'm in Love with my best friend
Lucky to have been where I have been
Lucky to be coming home again
oooh oooh ooooooooh

Lucky we're in love in every way
Lucky to have stayed where we have stayed
Lucky to be coming home some day.

I am also LOVING this Lucky I'm In Love with Chick-Fil-a adaptation.

This is me, stretching out a great big hug of thankfulness to YOU today.

For you--my 7 blog followers, I am thankful. Having the opportunity to share my joys and my worries with my dear friends is such a blessing! Knowing that you are praying for me and watching God work in my life is awesome.

Thank you!!

Goodbye Pie!

One of our dear coworkers is leaving us today to go on to bigger and better things. Cake Balls were requested, but they did not seem fitting for the occasion. We needed something gentler, and lighter and a tad sweeter since goodbye's are so sad. And then it came to me...Goodbye Pie!

Why don't we make pies to send people off? To tell them, you are a sweet person in our lives, just like this pie...

So I did it. I made a pie. A Goodbye Pie!

I used Pioneer Woman's Raspberry Cream Pie recipe, mostly because I love her, but also because I love the thought of raspberry and chocolate holding hands and doing a little happy dance in your mouth. (Which it did!)

3 reasons to love this pie:

1-The crust is made of Oreo's....need I say more?
2-It uses REAL raspberries, and counts as a fruit serving for the day!

3-It elicited the perfect response that a Goodbye Pie should, it made her smile and be joyful, and also made her request to keep the entire pie for herself.

So sayonara to just saying plain ol' Goodbye with tears and the usual moping about. From now on, there will always be GOODBYE PIE.

There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens... a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance..." Ecclesiastes 3:1 & 3:4

Hipstomatic-Click!

This post is for you fellow iphone holders. I have a new app called Hipstomatic, which is I am told supposed to be used by "hipsters" to take edgy, old timey pics. Well I decided I didn't like taking pics the old fashioned (iphone) way and I could consider myself a hipster....or so I decided... so I downloaded it.

It seriously makes your pictures look like art! You can choose different flash types and film types, but that is all way to fancy for me. I just played around with it. Here are my creations thus far:

                           "Veg"                                                                     "The Onion"

"The Conversation"                                                                           "Wuff"

Let there be Cake!

So I am having a hankerin' for Pioneer Woman's Italian Cream cake! My coworker is making it, after a much successful tasting of it a few weeks ago when I brought it into the office, and I can't stop thinking about it's coconutty, walnutty, creamy cheesy goodness!! I am not a baker, and I was able to whip this cake up and let me tell you--it's worth every calorie it probably includes!

In the words of Pioneer Woman: You want to make this cake.

To stay on track with my Made To Crave book by Lysa Terkeurst, I recommend making the cake, enjoying a teensy (ok medium) little slice, and taking it to work to share with everyone!!
